The :30 television spots will run from January 21 through February 17 during popular primetime programming including FOX's new "That 80's Show" and the "United We Stand" NFL Special on CBS. A condensed :15 version of the ads will air throughout the same time period.
"Championship football and best-in-class chicken wings are a winning combination," said John Gilbert, Chief Marketing Officer for KFC. "And with two great tasting wings flavors we're looking for a blow out with fans - whether they hunger for heat or have a passion for sweet."
"Look for one spot to answer the age-old question that's been plaguing football fans for decades - 'How many wings can you fit into The Fridge?'" added Gilbert.
Honey BBQ Wings and Spicy BBQ Wings will be available at this limited time price at participating KFC restaurants from January 21 to March 10.
In July 2001, KFC launched a new $200 million advertising campaign, featuring actor Jason Alexander as a "Chicken Fanatic." The campaign - with its tagline, "There's Fast Food, Then There's KFC." was developed to tap a competitive nerve against bland food found at other fast food restaurants, especially hamburger chains.
